I know how ARFID feels.

I was born in 2008. I began displaying signs of ARFID in 2010, at two years of age. The disorder was only added to the DSM-5 in 2013, when I was five. Nobody knew what it was. Everyone said “it’s fine, he’s just a picky eater, he’ll get over it when he’s older.” I didn’t. Everyone said “just force him to eat something else, he’ll cave.” I starved myself instead.

It wasn’t until I was fourteen that I even found out what ARFID was. Since then, it has been my aim to let people know all about this disorder and how deeply it can affect someone’s life. I made this website so people would know how debilitating this condition can be, but also in hopes of finding solidarity and a sense of comfort. A sense that everything will be fine. A sense that help can and will be found.
